Liquid left over? I’m not sure what you mean. I’m sorry the sprinkles melted – I know that some brands are better than others. I usually try to use just jimmies (the long rods) and a good quality (i.e. cake mate from the grocery, not walmart brand or cheap sprinkles).

This is a fun recipe but, there’s something off with the amount of liquid to rice crispie ratio. I put in more than 10 cups and still had liquid left over. It melted all my sprinkles and candy and turned black. I am so disappointed!

In reply to Nicole.

Little late to this recipe. But after reading this comment. I froze all my candies and sprinkles a few hours before making. I had no issues with melting.

I made these for administrators meeting and they are still raving! Easy and delicious. 5 stars without a doubt.

These are so cute! In other Halloween desserts I have used some little candy eyeballs that would be cute pressed into the top of these here and there with the other fun candy and sprinkles.

In reply to Nicole.

I was worried about that so I let it cool for a few minutes and then I used jimmies sprinkles which worked well. After a little more cooling I mixed in the chocolate m&ms.

Since they come in an 8 oz bag, I’ll use regular marshmallows also to get the 15 ozs. Then I can just put the sprinkles on top after pressing into the pan.
