Candy Corn Brownie Bites are easy bite sized Halloween treats – they can be made from scratch or semi-homemade and they’re so delicious. Brownies frosted like candy corn, how can you go wrong?

Several chocolate brownie bites topped with yellow and orange icing, a swirl of white frosting, and a piece of candy corn.

If you’re in need of a quick and easy Halloween dessert, look no further than Candy Corn Brownie Bites. With just 3 simple ingredients and some food coloring you have a delicious frosted brownie cupcake perfect for October!

A container of brownie bites, candy corn pieces, and three piping bags filled with white, orange, and yellow frosting on a white surface. Labels identify each item: BROWNIE BITES, CANDY CORN, and FROSTING.

How to make Candy Corn Brownie Bites

  1. You can use my homemade brownie bite recipe or buy a package from the store.
  2. Whip up a batch of my simple vanilla buttercream or grab a can of vanilla frosting.
  3. You’ll need orange and yellow food coloring for the frosting. I prefer gel food coloring because the colors are brighter without having to use too much (and it won’t thin out the icing).
  4. Use pastry bags with an shape tip, but an open star (Wilton 1M) tip is perfect for this recipe.
  5. Be sure to frost the brownie bites in the order of candy corn: yellow – orange – white.
Several chocolate brownie bites topped with yellow and orange icing, a swirl of white frosting, and a piece of candy corn.

Storing Brownie Bites

  • Store these in an airtight container in the fridge for several days.
  • You can freeze them with or without the frosting. If freezing with frosting, flash-freeze first on a cookie sheet before adding to a container.

Expert Tips

  • If your frosting gets too soft, chill it for about 30 minutes during frosting.
  • This would be a delicious way to frost mini cupcakes too.
  • Brownie bites are super delicious and fun to decorate for Halloween with eyeballs or as Christmas trees!

Pillsbury Stacked Sugar Cookies are an easy viral TikTok recipe that uses just a few ingredients and starts with Pillsbury sugar cookie dough! These are super fast and super easy to make and they’re a treat the whole family will love.

A plate of colorful Halloween cookies decorated with shapes of pumpkins and ghosts, surrounded by festive orange, purple, and black sprinkles.

These Pillsbury Halloween Cookies have just 2 basic ingredients plus sprinkles and/or sanding sugar. They use those cute pumpkin sugar cookies that Pillsbury makes (or any of their fun cute shapes) and stacks them with Pillsbury sugar cookies to make the perfect festive cookies! These are the perfect cookies for beginner bakes and they’re so fun at Halloween or Christmas time for a cookie exchange!

Three bowls of orange, black, and purple sprinkles above three packages of Pillsbury sugar cookies: Ghost shape, Pumpkin shape, and plain cookie dough, arranged on a white surface.

How to make Pillsbury Stacked Sugar Cookies

  1. Start with a package of those fun shaped sugar cookies – at Halloween they have ghosts and pumpkins, but they also have them for other holidays. I’ve made Pillsbury Christmas Cookies with these too – and you can use any of the fun shapes.
  2. You also need a pack of the bake and break sugar cookies or you can use a log of sugar cookie dough and cut 1 tablespoon size balls.
  3. Colorful sanding sugar and/or colorful nonpareils to roll slices of the cookie dough in. For Halloween, use orange and black and purple, or choose a mix of nonpareils. Match the colors to the holiday!
  4. You can also use refrigerated chocolate chip cookies or even pumpkin cookies if you can find them at the store.
  5. Want to make them from scratch? Use my perfect sugar cookie recipe or best chocolate chip cookie recipe!
  6. Press the sugar cookie into a thin disc with the palm of your hand before adding the shaped cookie on top.

Click to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions and below the recipe card for process shots.

Storing Double Decker Cookies

  • Store cooled cookies in an airtight container for several days.
  • Freeze cookies for up to a few months.

Dorothy’s Expert Tips

  • I love the bake and break cookie dough but you can also use a log – slice log with a sharp knife and roll dough into balls.
  • These are a next level treat perfect for the holiday season – kids love them so they’re great for class parties.
  • Don’t package or freeze cookies until they’ve come to room temperature.

Oreo Halloween Cookies

Put a fun halloween twist on Oreos by making these delicious halloween treats. I used classic Oreo cookies and covered them in different colored chocolate to make a few Halloween themed treats with spooky designs!

ingredients in halloween Oreos laid out on a white counter.

Ingredients Needed

  • Oreos: You can use any flavor of Oreos
  • Chocolate Candy Melts: I used white candy melts, regular chocolate, green candy melts, and orange candy melts for decoration. I prefer Ghirardelli candy melts for white and milk chocolate. For colors, you’ll need melts from Walmart or the craft store.
  • Color Gel and/or Candy Toppings: for decorations on top.

Chocolate Covered Oreo Tools

While you can just dip the Oreos in chocolate, I find that (especially colored candy melts) they come out clumpy and not clean and pretty. For that reason I suggest using Oreo Molds – these are like cupcake pans but shorter, made for covering Oreos in chocolate. You can buy Oreo Molds on Amazon or Walmart.

How to make Halloween Oreos

  1. Melt candy melts according to package directions. I like doing this in paper dixie bowls for easy clean up (and so the microwave doesn’t burn the chocolate).
  2. Fill the bottom of each cavity of the mold with about 1 tablespoon candy melts. Top with Oreo, then top with more melted candy.
  3. Chill until set.
  4. Once set, remove from molds. Melt additional candy melts in desired colors.
  5. For jack o’ lanterns, use dark chocolate or black candy melts and place in small bag with tip cut off to pipe eyes and mouth. Or you can use a black food writer pen.
  6. For sprinkle decorations, just drizzle the tops with desired colors and sprinkle with desired sprinkles. Chill to harden.

Expert Tips

  • Different kinds of decorations you can do are jack-o lanterns, pumpkins, eyeballs, or just fun decor!
  • Chocolate candy melts (i.e. Ghirardelli) melt and spread much better – plus they taste so much better.
  • For chocolate dipping tips be sure to read that post – I teach you how to do it without crying (and without ruining your chocolate).

FAQs

Can you freeze these?

Yes you can! Store them in the freezer for up to 3 months in an airtight container.

How long do chocolate covered Oreos last?

These will last in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several weeks.

I love brownies any time of the year, but these halloween brownies take the cake. I made them completely from scratch, but if you could make my brownie mix to have it ready ahead of time, or buy a store brought brownie box mix!

These halloween treats are perfect for a party because they have a base of a classic brownie, but then I added some halloween mix-ins that make the recipe so fun! Kids and adults alike will love them – I promise!

How to make Halloween Brownies

  1. This recipe needs unsweetened baking chocolate.
  2. Buy unsweetened cocoa powder (you can also use dutch process cocoa).
  3. I typically use unsalted butter but salted may be substituted.
  4. Halloween Decorations: My favorite things to decoration these are halloween themed M&Ms, halloween sprinkles, candy corn, and edible candy eyeballs.

You can store them at room temperature or in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can freeze them in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

Expert Tips

  • You can add as many mix-ins or take away as many of them to suit your liking. Add chocolate chips, mix in nuts or m&ms to the batter – anything!
  • Brownies are done baking when a toothpick comes out with just a few crumbs 2-inches from the side of the pan (NOT in the center!)

Cost $10

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces (113g) unsweetened baking chocolate coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ⅓ cups (162g) all-purpose flour
  • M&Ms sprinkles, eyes, candy corn etc

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13″ pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring often, about 6 minutes, until it becomes brown in color. It will foam, reduce, then foam again. Once it’s done cooking the foam is a light brown and it will dissipate after you remove it from the heat. Once it starts to brown, keep stirring so it doesn’t burn. Once it gets to an amber color, turn off the flame.
  • Add baking chocolate to the butter and stir until the chocolate is melted. Stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt, and cocoa and stir until combined. Stir in flour.
  • Pour brownie batter into prepared baking pan. Sprinkle with sprinkles, eyeballs, and M&Ms. Bake for 25-35 minutes until a toothpick along the edge comes out with just a few crumbs. This results in very fudgy gooey brownies. Cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Brownies are done baking when a toothpick comes out clean 2-inches from the edge of the pan.
  • I recommend baking brownies in metal pans.

When is gets close to the fall time, these Halloween cookies are some of my favorite to make. Even if candy corn is not be favorite, the flavor in these cookies are perfect. The candy corn texture with the peanuts and chocolate make them taste almost like a chocolate payday candy bar – plus these are easy to make!

ingredients in candy corn cookies laid out on a white marble counter.

How to make Candy Corn Cookies

  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: This is regular cocoa or Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa (or you can use Dutch process cocoa).
  • Butter: I use unsalted butter but you can substitute salted butter by reducing added salt.
  • Sugar: This recipe calls for granulated sugar and light brown sugar – I always use a combination in my cookies.
  • Vanilla Extract: Only buy PURE vanilla!
  • Candy Corn: Make sure it’s new candy corn (not last years). We’re also going to add peanuts (any flavor) and chocolate chips.

Click to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions and below the recipe card for process shots.

Variations

  • Swap white chocolate chips (or even peanut butter or butterscotch chips) for the chocolate chips.
  • You can use other nuts in place of the peanuts.
  • Use Dutch Process or Special Dark cocoa powder.
stacked cookies with candy corn baked in.

Expert Tips

  • When you are baking the cookies with candy corn, they must be fully enclosed in the dough and not touching the cookie sheet or else they will melt. Check the bottom of each cookie dough ball and make sure all the candy corn is inside.
  • You can add more candy corn on top after they are baked.
  • It’s important to bake these on parchment paper or silicone mats in case the candy corn does melt – that way it’s easily removable from the cookie sheet.

Storing Cookies

Store these in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days, or put them in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Servings 24 cookies
Calories 169kcal
Cost $8

Ingredients

  • cup (27g) unsweetened cocoa powder (or Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa)
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups (155g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter , softened
  • cup (134g) packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup (128g) chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup coarsely chopped peanuts optional (add more chocolate chips if not using)
  • ¾ cup candy corn

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter and both sugars. Mix in egg and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add dry ingredients and mix until combined. Mix in chocolate chips, nuts, and candy corn.
  • Scoop 2 tablespoon sized balls of dough onto the cookie sheets, 3 inches apart. NOTE: your candy corn MUST be enclosed in the cookies and not peeking out on the bottoms. If candy corn is showing where they hit the cookie sheet they’ll melt out. Just manipulate each dough ball so that none are showing. If the dough is too wet to do this immediately, you can chill it for 30 minutes (or just get your hands dirty!) If you want to top the cookies with more candy corn to show what’s inside, do this before baking.
  • Bake for 9-12 minutes until they just lose their glossy sheen. Err on the side of underdone for these cookies; they taste better that way. Cool at least 5 minutes on cookie sheets before removing.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to one month.

Video

Notes

  • Make sure to use parchment or silicone to bake on in case your candy corn melts – then it’s easy to remove.
  • Make sure no candy corn is touching the cookie sheet. It must be fully inside the dough where the dough will touch the sheet.

Candy Corn Magic Bars Recipe

These Magic Cookie Bars will make you feel like you’re about to go trick or treating! Not only are they delicious on their own, but the addition of candy corn makes these magic bars the perfect spooky treat. These are like Hello Dolly bars or 7 layer bars – perfect for this time of year. I love adding extra candy corn to Halloween treats, like Rice Krispie treats or cookies! Calling all candy corn lovers – this recipe is for you.

ingredients in candy corn magic bars laid out on a white counter.

Ingredients Needed

  • Graham Crackers: These will be crushed to make the crust.
  • Chocolate Chips: I use peanut butter chips and white chocolate chips
  • Candy Corn: Be sure to use new candy corn for the best results.
  • Coconut Flakes: Adds an extra flavor and texture.
  • Butter: I use unsweetened & melted butter (salted may be substituted)
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: These create the magic in magic bars.

Variations

  • Instead of peanut butter, use butterscotch chips
  • Instead of white chocolate, use semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • You can reduce the amount of chips and add Reese’s Pieces or your favorite flavor m&m.

How to Make Magic Bars

  1. Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter and press into the bottom of a prepared 9×13-inch pan.
  2. Sprinkle white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, coconut, and candy corn over the top.
  3. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of the bars.
  4. Bake until they get golden around the edges. Cool completely before slicing into bars.

Expert Tips

  • Make sure to let these halloween magic bars fully cool before serving and enjoying.
  • You can store these bars at room temperature or in the fridge. I’ve also frozen these in an airtight container.

These Pumpkin Patch Brownies are the best recipe for Halloween! I topped the brownies with green frosting for the pumpkin patch grass and then added a pumpkin candy corn on top. 4 ingredients and about 20 minutes and you’ll have the perfect easy dessert – everyone loves these I promise.

ingredients in pumpkin patch brownie bites laid out on a white counter.

Ingredients Needed

  • Brownie Bites: Make my brownie bite recipe or get them from the store.
  • Frosting: You can get a can or make vanilla buttercream from scratch.
  • Candy Corn Pumpkins: Can’t have a pumpkin patch without pumpkins!
  • Food Coloring Gel: To turn the frosting green.

How to make Pumpkin Patch Brownies

  1. Color the frosting green.
  2. Place the frosting in a piping bag fitted with a grass tip (this is a tip with a bunch of little holes).
  3. Frost each brownie bite with some grass frosting and then top with a Pumpkin Mallow Candy Corn.

Expert Tips

  • Buy the pumpkin candy corn when you see it because sometimes it is hard to find.
  • Remember: a little food coloring goes a long way if you’re using gel food colors.
  • This decoration also works great on regular brownies or any cupcakes! I think chocolate cupcakes or pumpkin cupcakes would be perfect.

Storing and Make Ahead

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator; serve at room temperature. I don’t recommend freezing the candy corn.
