I turned Strawberry Pretzel Salad into an easy, fast, and delicious DIP recipe! Strawberry Pretzel Dip is a fluffy sweet cream cheese dip with tons of strawberry flavor and it’s perfect for dipping pretzels!

A white bowl filled with creamy pink Strawberry Pretzel Salad Dip topped with cherry sauce sits on a plate surrounded by mini pretzels. In the background, theres a small bowl of cherry sauce and a few scattered pretzels on a light-colored surface.

Somehow we entered a time warp back in January and when we stepped out it was mid-May. I’m not quite sure how that happened but Memorial Day is right around the corner. After that, summer and with it pool parties, BBQs, the 4th of July…all times when you need lots of potluck ready appetizers and desserts that are no-bake, easy, and fast.

This Strawberry Pretzel Salad Dip fits all of those requirements. Especially the one where it’s good for a party. It’s perfect for a backyard BBQ, a potluck or just because you love cream cheese dip or strawberry pretzel salad!

A photo showcases ingredients for a Strawberry Pretzel Salad Dip: a plate of cream cheese, a bowl of pretzels, a dish of vanilla extract, a tub of Cool Whip, strawberry pie filling, and sugar, all neatly labeled.

Ingredient Notes

I daresay, the actual salad recipe is pretty easy but this dip? Is even easier. Just a few simple ingredients get mixed together and it’s ready to serve.

The classic Strawberry Pretzel Salad recipe includes cream cheese, whipped topping, and sugar. Then it’s topped with strawberries and jell-o and it’s all on top of a pretzel crust.

This recipe is very similar. The base of the dip is the same as the middle of that layered dessert. Cream cheese, sugar, and whipped topping are mixed together (you could substitute whipped cream). Then, instead of using jell-o, I used strawberry pie filling. Just swirl some in and add some to the top for garnish.

Instead of making crust, you just serve this with pretzels. Or a spoon. I won’t judge.

How to make Strawberry Pretzel Dip Tips

  • Make sure your cream cheese is softened so you don’t have lumps.
  • I love cool whip but you could use 3 cups of freshly whipped cream instead.
  • You can find strawberry pie filling in the baking aisle, near the pie crusts and other pie fillings.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. If using cool whip you can freeze the dip also!

Valentine Chex Mix is an easy snack mix recipe – no bake and only 6 ingredients! It takes just minutes to make and is super festive for Valentine’s Day. I call it Cupid Crunch and it’s the perfect treat for a Valentine’s Day party.

A red bowl filled with a mix of popcorn, pretzels, peanuts, and heart-shaped pastel candies coated in a white glaze. Additional candy hearts are scattered on the gray surface around the bowl. A baking tray with more of the mix is in the background.

I love snack mix, and I love love, so Valentine’s Day Snack Mix is the perfect treat for me! In all honesty, skip giving me chocolate, I want Chex Mix. Salty and sweet and crunchy, this Cupid Crunch version of my Bunny Bait recipe has white chocolate coated cereal, pretzels, and nuts all topped with Valentine candy. It’s the perfect sweet treat!

Various snack ingredients are displayed in bowls on a white surface, including cheerios, rice cereal squares, mixed nuts, pretzels, and white candy melts. A pink package labeled Brachs is in the center.

Ingredient Notes

  • Cereal: I used a combination of Chex Cereal and Cheerios, but you really can mix and match to your hearts delight. Rice Chex, Wheat, Cinnamon, Peanut Butter, Honey Nut – any flavor you like would be perfect. Same goes for the Cheerios – use any flavor you like.
  • Pretzels: Add a crunchier crunch – you can use mini pretzels, twists, or rods
  • Nuts: I love using peanuts, but almonds would be great too!
  • Melting Candy: I prefer Ghirardelli Melting Wafers (they taste the best). Use either white or milk chocolate candy. In a pinch you can use white chocolate chips but they won’t melt as easily.
  • Valentine Twist: Conversation hearts, if you like them, or M&Ms are perfect, or any candy you like.

Click to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions and below the recipe card for process shots.

How to make Valentine’s Day Chex Mix

  1. I love using 3 cups rice Chex cereal and 3 cups Honey Nut Cheerios but you can use any kind you like.
  2. Use a microwave-safe bowl to melt the chocolate – I love using paper bowls for easy cleanup.
  3. You could even add 1/4 cup peanut butter to the chocolate for extra flavor!
  4. Be sure to evenly coat the cereal with the chocolate and then spread it out on baking sheets to harden.
  5. Once hardened, break it up and shake it with one bag Valentine’s M&Ms or conversation hearts.
A baking tray filled with a colorful snack mix, including pretzels, cereal pieces, peanuts, and pastel-colored candy hearts. The items are coated in a light sugary glaze, creating a sweet and crunchy treat.

Storing Valentine Snack Mix

  • Store in a large gallon size bag or airtight container. It will last several days at room temperature.
  • I don’t recommend freezing this snack.

Expert Tips

  • Use your favorite candy for this! Any flavor M&Ms or even other little candies would be perfect.
  • For extra decoration, drizzle the top with more melted chocolate.

Sweet, creamy, and pink – this Valentine Martini is the perfect recipe for a Galentine’s Day party (or for your Valentine). It’s a creamy strawberry martini with just a few ingredients – make a Martini for your Sweetie!

Two pink cocktails in martini glasses, each topped with a strawberry on the rim. More strawberries are scattered on the gray surface. The background is blurred, highlighting the drinks.

A Classic Cosmo is perfect for Valentine’s (it’s pink, after all), but if you’re looking for an easy creamy sweet Valentine’s Day dessert martini, look no further. I’m calling this a Sweetie Martini since I made it for Valentine’s Day, but really it’s a strawberry martini with vodka and amaretto. It’s delicious!

A selection of ingredients on a countertop: a carton of half and half, a bottle of Disaronno liqueur, a bottle of Smirnoff Vanilla vodka, and a bottle of strawberry syrup.

Ingredient Notes

  • Vodka: Use your favorite vodka. You can use plain or use a flavored, like whipped or vanilla or even strawberry flavored, if you can find it.
  • Amaretto adds a ton of flavor – it’s one of my favorite liqueurs
  • Strawberry Syrup – you can use ice cream syrup or the kind of syrups coffeehouses use (i.e. Torani or Skinny Mixes). We love the Skinny Mixes Strawberry syrup best.
  • Milk – you can also use half and half or heavy cream (but use whole milk, not fat free)
A hand pours milk into a tall glass filled with ice and pink liquid. The glass has colorful dots and a gold rim. Strawberries and another glass are in the background on a gray surface.

How to make a Martini for Valentine’s Day

  1. Making a martini requires a cocktail shaker and a martini glass – shake all the ingredients and strain into the glass.
  2. You can also turn this easily into a cherry martini by using grenadine.
  3. Garnish with fresh strawberries or raspberries.
  4. Turn it into a chocolate covered strawberry martini by adding a drizzle of chocolate sauce or swapping the amaretto for Godiva’s White Chocolate Liqueur.
A pink cocktail is being poured from a golden shaker into a uniquely twisted martini glass. In the background, there is a white container with fresh strawberries. The setting is on a gray surface.

Expert Tip

If you don’t want to use Hershey’s syrup or Skinny Mixes, you can make strawberry simple syrup: add a carton of strawberries to a pot and mash them. Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup water and allow to cook until thickened. Puree and use in any cocktail!

Other than my chocolate chip cookies or a classic sugar cookies recipe, sprinkle sugar cookies are probably one of my favorite recipes ever. These have that classic sugar cookie flavor with a soft and chewy texture, no chill time, and are done in under 30 minutes! The addition of sprinkles gives the chewy cookies a nice crunch, plus it’s so easy to customize these cookies based on season, holiday, and occasion with your favorite color sprinkles. It’s the perfect cookie recipe!

ingredients in sprinkle cookies laid out on a white marble counter.

Ingredient Notes

  • Unsalted butter: If you are making this recipe dairy-free then use butter flavored Crisco vegetable shortening instead of butter. Make sure the butter is room temperature.
  • Vanilla Extract: I always use pure vanilla – you can also add a bit of almond extract for extra flavor. Turn them into funfetti cookies by adding cake batter extract.
  • Cream of Tartar: This recipe uses baking soda and the cream of tartar helps them stay soft.
  • Flour: Use all-purpose flour and be sure to measure it correctly.
  • Colorful Sprinkles: You can use a color you’d like! The best kind of sprinkles to use are rainbow jimmies style (rods), not nonpareils. The rod-type sprinkles hold up better in baking.

Click to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions and below the recipe card for process shots.

How to Make Sprinkle Cookies Tips

  1. Whisk dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt) in a medium bowl.
  2. You can use an electric hand mixer and a large mixing bowl or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.
  3. Be sure to cream butter and sugar until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer). Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl while mixing.
  4. Once the eggs and extract are mixed in, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir in the sprinkles last.
  5. Use a 2 tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop balls of dough and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone mats. No chilling needed – you can bake these immediately. (Make small cookies with a 1-tablespoon scoop.)
  6. Use jimmy sprinkles opposed to other types like nonpareils. Jimmies stay in tact better when baking in the oven (nonpareils tend to melt).
  7. You know these chewy sprinkle cookies are done baking when they just lose their glossy sheen and are light golden around the edges.

Variations & Substitutions

  • You can substitute Vegan Butter Sticks (not tub butter) for the unsalted butter (Earth’s Balance or similar).
  • Use any color sprinkles – Christmas sprinkles make a perfect Christmas cookie.
  • Add other extract flavors, like almond extract, or use birthday cake flavor to make them taste like birthday cake cookies.

Storage & Freezing

Store baked cookies in an airtight container – they’ll keep for several days. Place the container in the freezer to freeze cookies for several months.

To make the cookies ahead of time, you can freeze the cookie dough balls (thaw before baking) or store frozen dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days Thaw before baking, but bake at room temp.

stacked blondies with pink and red and white M&Ms baked into the bars on a white plate.

Expert Tip

For best results, use a metal pan for this blondie recipe. Using a metal pan will allow the cookie bars to cook more evenly, keeping them soft and fudgy while allowing them to bake all the way.

FAQs

How do you know when blondies are done baking?

When the cookie loses its glossy sheen and is very light golden around the edges.

Why is using a metal pan important?

The metal pan is a heat conductor so it’ll help bake the cookie out evenly.

Where can I find the Valentine’s day sprinkles?

At your local grocery store in the baking isle, look for baking decorations.

Can I freeze blondies for Valentine’s Day?

Yes you can! I usually freeze them in an airtight container up to 2 weeks in advanced. I love having this recipe ready to enjoy instantly on valentines day. These blondies can be frozen and remain fresh for up to 3 months.

Valentine Butter Board

Valentine’s Day is all about chocolate and this board does not disappoint on that front! Typically frosting boards are made with buttercream frosting that has been dyed by food coloring, but to make this recipe even easier, I just used Nutella! I sprinkled some sprinkles on top and made some of my favorite treats for the side!

This butter board trend is not one you want to miss out on. It is easy and delicious, plus everyone will enjoy! So whether you are making it for just yourself, a significant other, or a group–it will be a hit! Plus…it’s NUTELLA. There is nothing wrong with that!

Expert Tips

  • The dessert boards themselves are great, but what you dip in them makes it even better! Here are some of my favorite options for dippers that you should use:
  • You can sprinkle other things on top aside from sprinkles as well! Try coconut and M&Ms or chopped nuts.
  • Use an offset spatula for this recipe to spread the Nutella – it makes it so much easier.

FAQs

How to store frosting board?

Serve this board not long after you make it to keep it fresh, but you can cover it with some plastic wrap in the refrigerator to keep it good until the party!

Oreo Truffle Dipped Strawberries – Why give boring old regular chocolate covered strawberries when you can make OREO TRUFFLE dipped strawberries? This is a new twist on a favorite treat.

Oreo Truffle Dipped Strawberries - an easy Valentine treat! Stuff strawberries with Oreo Truffles and dip the tops in chocolate!

New Twist on Dipped Strawberries

Do Oreo Truffle Dipped Strawberries count as a health food recipe, yes? Because I mean, strawberries and all that. So I added an Oreo truffle to the mix…pffft, this is totally going under the “healthier” dessert category. Plus, regular old chocolate dipped strawberries are so 1985.

Maybe you’ve seen those cheesecake strawberries floating around the internet? Those are fabulous – they inspired a recipe in my book, Dessert Mashups. In that recipe, I stuffed regular chocolate truffles inside the strawberries, which was so rich and indulgent. When I was trying to think of an easy Valentine’s Dessert that wasn’t too heavy (like my Nutella truffles), I immediately remembered those strawberries.

This recipe is SO good: 4 ingredients, under 30 minutes. These Oreo Truffle Dipped Strawberries are so easy to make!

ingredients in oreo truffle dipped strawberries laid out on a white counter.

Ingredients Needed

  • Candy Melts – I prefer using Ghiradelli chocolate melts vs almond bark because they taste so much better. They come in milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate (use your favorite).
  • Oreos (regular, not double stuffed) and Cream Cheese (softened) for the oreo truffles.
  • Strawberries: Ones that are large and bright red!

How to make Strawberries Stuffed with Truffles

  1. Wash and dry the berries very well – any water will seize your chocolate. Cut off the stem and used a melon baller to scoop out the center.
  2. Mix the Oreos and cream cheese in a food processor until it’s thick and like paste.
  3. Scoop 1-inch sized balls then chill to firm them up.
  4. Stuff a truffle in the hole in your berry and try to flatten it against the top of the strawberry to cover the wet part as much as possible.
  5. Then all you have to do is dip the tops in chocolate. It’s like an inverse dipped strawberry!

A few tips for dipping berries:

  • Make sure to pat them dry, especially the cut part that you’ll be dipping in the chocolate.
  • I like to melt my chocolate in a disposable Dixie bowl – you know those kind they sell by the paper plates? They microwave well and you can just throw them away after.
  • I used semi-sweet baking chocolate for my dipping, but you can also use chocolate chips or almond bark or Candiquik.
  • For some reason, my chocolate did not seize, which I consider a true miracle. Often when dipping things like berries, too much water gets into the chocolate, which makes it get all clumpy and ruins it. I suggest splitting your chocolate into two bowls before you start to dip, just in case. If the chocolate starts to seize, use the rest but use a spoon to drizzle it over the top instead of dipping the berry upside down into it.
  • I sprinkled crushed Oreos on the top but you can use sprinkles too!

Ingredients

  • 8 (91g) Oreo cookies
  • 1 ounce (57g) cream cheese
  • 8-10 large strawberries washed and dried very well
  • 4 ounces (113g) semi-sweet baking chocolate or Ghiradelli Melts
  • 2 additional Oreos or Sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Place 8 Oreos in a food processor with cream cheese. Process until a thick paste forms (scraping down the sides of the food processor as needed). Line a cookie sheet with wax paper and scoop one tablespoon balls of  truffle onto the cookie sheet (about 8). Chill until strawberries are ready.
  • Slice the stem off the strawberry and scoop out the center with a small melon baller. Wipe the edge of the berry as dry as possible.
  • Place chocolate in a small microwave safe bowl. I like to use paper Dixie bowls for easy clean up. Heat on high power in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. Place remaining 2 Oreos into a plastic bag and crush using a rolling pin. (Those are for decoration, feel free to use sprinkles instead.) I recommend dividing the chocolate into two bowls in case it’s in a finicky mood and seizes. If that happens, drizzle the chocolate over the top of the berry instead of dipping it.
  • To assemble the berries: place an Oreo truffle in each strawberry cavity. Dip the tops in the chocolate, then sprinkle with crushed Oreos or Sprinkles. Sometimes the chocolate can have trouble with the wet berries, so make sure to dry them as much as possible before dipping.
  • Place the dipped berries back on the cookie sheet and chill until set. Store in the refrigerator. Best eaten the same day they are made.

Homemade Chocolate Covered Strawberries are a favorite in our house. My daughter loves them as dessert or snack all year long (I even make Chocolate covered strawberries for the Super Bowl), but traditionally they’re made for Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day. The recipe for how to make these is so simple, but it’s good to have a few tricks up your sleeve because working with chocolate can be finicky! NEVER buy chocolate strawberries again when this recipe:

  • Has just 3 ingredients (plus toppings if you want them)
  • Looks professional even though you made them at home!
  • Are so easy – easier than you think!!

Ingredients & Types of Chocolate

  • Strawberries: You want fresh ripe strawberries – red with no spots and healthy large green leaves.
  • Semi-sweet chocolate (dark): I find it easier to use baking bars or melts. You can also use milk chocolate. I do not recommend using chocolate chips. My favorite melts are Ghirardelli, which you can find in the baking aisle.
  • White chocolate: you can use milk chocolate if you prefer but I love the pop of color the white chocolate gives
  • Other types of chocolate: You can use almond bark or Candiquik, but those don’t taste as good as Ghirardelli. You can also use bars of baking chocolate (found near the melts and chocolate chips). Melts are my favorite because they are made for melting and dipping.
  • Coconut or chopped nuts (optional): for toppings. You can also use mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, or extra chocolate for drizzling. The toppings are optional, but they add texture and flavor plus they’re a little extra fancy to make the strawberries unique!

How to melt chocolate for strawberries

You can melt the chocolate on a stovetop using a double boiler or in the microwave, which is my preferred method.

  • Use 50% power when melting candy melts or baking bars. If your chocolate is struggling to melt, you can add a bit of vegetable or coconut oil to help it melt easier.
  • Make sure to use a microwave-safe bowl to melt your chocolate. You can use a plastic or glass bowl, but I love using paper bowls for easy cleanup.
  • Stir in 30-second intervals to avoid scorching the chocolate.
  • Get all my tips for how to melt chocolate and how to dip without tears, including learning how I use a griddle to keep my chocolate warm.

How to make chocolate covered strawberries

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash your berries in an inch of water and then pat them dry with a paper towel. Your fruit needs to be completely dry before dipping or the chocolate will seize.
  2. Hold a strawberry by its stem and dip it in the chocolate mixture. Add the topping while the chocolate is still wet, so the topping adheres.
  3. Decorate (optional): drizzle or add toppings
  4. Refrigerate: place the baking dish in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets

Storing Instructions

How long do Chocolate Covered Strawberries last? They’ll last a few days stored in a covered but vented container, however they’ll start to weep after 24 hours.

I don’t recommend making these too far ahead of time and I do not recommend freezing them. For best results, make them the day they’ll be given or served.

Expert Tips

Melted chocolate can be a fussy thing, so I always use baking bars or chocolate melts to make these strawberries. They’re designed for melting and handling, and won’t melt as fast in your fingers like chocolate chips would.

How do you get chocolate to stick to strawberries? Make sure your strawberries are fully dry, free of water and at room temp. This way the moisture won’t keep the chocolate from sticking. Be sure to dry your strawberries really well before dipping

You can decorate with anything you like – drizzles of leftover chocolate, or use chopped pistachios, pecans, almonds, or even toffee bits.

To create the drizzle, just place melted chocolate in a small sandwich bag and cut off the tiniest of the tip.

FAQs
